A recall petition is also being circulated to remove the mayor and council members who were not on the ballot.

Remember: Alito flew a US flag upside down on 1/6 and a Christian nationalist pine tree flag, and Thomas' wife paid for busses to shuttle people to 1/6 riot, but yeah, they aren't political.
This is exactly why language matters: “women were given the vote” frames equality as a gift from men, instead of hard won political power extracted through organized resistance. Nobody gave women anything. Women fought, marched, strategized, endured violence, went to prison and died for it.
China's big bets: Solar power, high-speed rail, inexpensive high-quality EVs. US big bets: Bomb Iran, protect domestic car industry, dismantle wind power, the Freedom to Drive initiative. Who do you think is making the smarter bets?
