So looking forward for this! It’ll be a late night chat for me, but any time is a good time to talk about exciting science 🧠⚡️

For the next stimulating brains talk session, we're going to span across three continents with @carobellum.bsky.social and @macshine.bsky.social! Join us on June 25th at 6 PM EST (11 PM BST/8 AM AEST next day) for another amazing session! Free to attend 🎉 👉 talks.stimulatingbrains.org

Are you thinking about acquiring multi-task fMRI for your study but don’t know where to start? @bassel_arafat just published a toolbox to optimally select tasks and run them in the MRI scanner - with many commonly used tasks ready to go! Check out the preprint below 👇

The MultiTaskBattery toolbox is live: 20+ implemented tasks, object-oriented design and a battery optimizer built in! Docs: multitaskbattery.readthedocs.io/en/latest/ Github: github.com/DiedrichsenL... With @carobellum.bsky.social Jinkang Derrick Xiang @diedrichsenjorn.bsky.social 🙌

@carobellum.bsky.social really wanted to know how well resting-state correlations can predict which areas co-activate over a wide array of tasks. It turns out that you are better off running a short Multi-task battery, even if the tasks are completely different from the ones you want to predict!

🧠 Resting-state fMRI is often treated as the gold standard for studying the brain’s intrinsic organization. But is it actually the best way to estimate functional architecture? We tested this directly. 🧵1/8

Check out our new preprint! We directly tested a common assumption in neuroimaging: Is resting-state the best estimate of intrinsic organization? Spoiler: Across datasets and brain systems, multi-task fMRI did better. 👇

Multi-task fMRI outperforms resting-state fMRI for revealing task-invariant organization of the human brain https://www.biorxiv.org/content/10.64898/2026.03.09.710558v1
