Brian Beutler@brianbeutler.bsky.social · 3mo agoIt's thus crucial that we all be court reformers, too. Without bundling filibuster and court reform, those old progressive fears will come true. The filibuster will cease to be a tool Dems can use to block GOP bills but GOP judges will still block Dems. The intolerable double standard will persist.

as long as john roberts has his majority, there is simply no pro democracy reform that will survive the supreme court. none.
Current FCC rules prohibit foreign investors from owning >25% of company that holds US broadcast licenses. However, foreign investors (mostly Gulf funds) expected to indirectly own nearly 50% of Paramount equity post-WB deal. And Paramount now asking FCC to approve "up to 100%" foreign ownership
