There's a screenshot going around of authors admitting to AI use and one of them appears to write hardcore monsterfucking fics and this makes me sad. If you're not writing monsterfucking fics for the sheer, genuine love of the game then what the hell are we even doing here?
I will not judge someone for writing a story about fucking Mothman. I will heavily judge someone for using AI to write a story about fucking Mothman.
This is probably gonna gain traction soon, so I want to ground everyone before the fear that may come. The purpose of memos like this is probably best understood as to create fear. If they had the resources and ability to conduct mass crackdowns on trans groups, they would just do it.

AO3 is GREAT - but open source means you can have your fics on more than one site. AND it means that right now, while AO3 is unstable... you can go there to get your fix! (PS: Squidge is also GREAT for storing fan art to insert in your fics.)

Or you could just not use the site; I've found dissecting things for their tropes actually decreases my enjoyment in the end. But more importantly, decisions like these are good reminders that sites that won't let you in without demanding unnecessary data aren't to be trusted.

Even people who have turned their ad blockers off are reporting the site isn’t working. This all seems like a bad idea
