Rolled credits on The Mermaid Mask. Phenomenal game! Even better than Tangle Tower imo. And afterwards you get to look at SO MUCH CONCEPT ART by @catherineunger.bsky.social and crew, which was just as exciting.

The Mermaid Mask (our new murder-mystery detective adventure game) comes out TODAY!

One of the most rewarding art challenges we took on in The Mermaid Mask was to make all the clues fully 3D. @catherineunger.bsky.social would paint the 2D image as always, and then @kindradantone.bsky.social modelled and painted a 3D model to match it exactly - and the results were quite incredible-

Like Tangle Tower before it, the characters in The Mermaid Mask all have 'chibis' that are used on the map screen, diagrams, etc. But since I learned some rudimentary 3D modelling during Crow Country, I was also able to make 3D versions of the chibis, which ended up being incredibly useful...

NEW: It finally happened, a 10/10 from Geoffrey. The Mermaid Mask is a deft and delightful murder mystery that sets a marker for how a game should be voice acted (with special mention for @amberleeconnors.bsky.social and @edwyntiong.com) and how good point-and-click games can, and should, be.

the eyes update every frame and i'll always try to have one in the normal place based on which side is facing the camera, and then the other one just floats offset from it, based on the camera's look rotation. dumb but it works
