my dad is funny. he likes to talk on the phone and he's a film archivist by profession so he'll do things like call me up and just tell me about weird home movies they have in the collection and keep going until his phone dies--which is what happened just now. it's like a little cliffhanger.
once on a dating app I saw a guy’s profile that said “I enjoy films such as We Bought a Zoo” which is very funny but also the set-up & payoff of that simple sentence encapsulates my whole deal as a poet -an inscrutable art made legible -highbrow expectation w/ lowbrow execution -matt damon 👍

my crankiest poetry take is currently that while i like erasure poetry in theory, a lot of it is simply reversing the position of the original text, and that's so boring. and don't get me started on erasures of kind rejection emails to make them sound mean lol
when there's popular media for 12 year old boys (john wick) everyone is basically fine with it conceptually but when a movie is meant for 12 year old girls (wuthering heights) all of a sudden there's some kind of crisis
Please read this article to the end. Even before ICE got involved, this started because this *blind man who speaks no English and uses a curtain rod as a walking stick* got lost on a walk and some Karen called the police on him and they tasered and beat him bc he didn’t drop the rod. WTF
