It's extremely corrosive to civil order that we hear "Trump is breaking the law" and most people think "when I break the law I am *minimally* involved in a drawn out cruel display of state power and *maximally* deprived of my freedom" and for actual members of the government its a "whoopsie".
Andy Craig@andycraig.bsky.social · 13h agoIt's already illegal. Congress banned it near-unanimously in 2022. That law allows the ban to be lifted only if Russia withdraws from Ukraine. He's simply breaking the law that's already on the books.

This unethical vaccine study puts children’s lives at risk. Referring to kids who receive the placebo as having “lost the lottery” only confirms that those in charge know what they’re doing is wrong. They’re deliberating exposing helpless kids to hepatitis B.

Walker distributed about 1400 copies of the Appeal, of which authorities intercepted 300. It was documented by Peter P. Hinks (Walker's biographer) that the Appeal reached more than 11 cities in addition to Boston btw 1829 & 1830.
David Walker published An Appeal to the Colored Citizens of the World in pamphlet form in 1829. It's one of the most important and influential abolitionist texts in U.S. history. Yet, very few people have actually read it and many people don't know who Walker was especially among young people.

As disgusted as we should be by Trump's bloodlust, we should NOT lose sight of the CENTRAL role of Democrats in upholding, expanding, and enabling this system that seems to horrify so many people right now. Ossoff is hitting hard bc we are all furious and he knows it. The corporate press can elevate those loud, minority of voices praising what’s going on as much as they want, but most of us are angry and tired of being forced into living in pain.
