Very enlightening day. Exploring the unrelated but somehow not not related concepts of weightlifting and furries. Being a stocky, strong af furry would be totally awesome. Time will tell if I get into these as new hobbies!

Me, a wizard: Where hast my scrying orb gone? I cannot seem to find it anywhere in the tower... perhaps this is a cruel trick from my dark warlock rival! My Capricious and Gluttonous Familiar:

Boy comes home and says "I saw two ambulances, a second special one had pulled up, do you know what it is" and I immediately go "advanced life support!!" because I may currently have a special interest. And then I googled around to figure out what kind of paramedic in BC can intubate people. 😄

BREAKING: We’re dropping our agreement with the BC NDP. To renew our agreement, we asked for material action. Eby’s NDP plainly refused. So we’d like to share a new agreement with YOU. We agree to fight for affordability, take on the establishment, and stand with the working people of BC, always.

Just to be clear: America is operating concentration camps. As far as we know so far they aren't *extermination* camps, but that doesn't mean that they aren't and that they will not become such, we just have no reliable information saying they have. Yet. Just recognize that. It is truth.

Kelly Vargas writes about what happened to her, her husband, and their 6yo daughter in the family camp in Texas. Filth, illness, medical abuse—her child has lasting complications from being injured by a staff member. We don't know the half of what's happening in the camps, but we know enough.

It's not just the women and girls we know of. It's all their future work, and everything they could have been, and how we build structures that shelter their abusers. It's how a man's future has always been worth more than my past, present, and future combined.

This is only related in a sideways manner, but: the story of any small slice of humanity is the story of humanity, just boiled down and distilled. So: In 2020, we had a lot of conversations about harassment at SF/F conventions, and Isaac Asimov came up several times.

the Epstein files are really devastating because they remind me of how many girls and women miss out on professional opportunities, mentorship and careers because of how many powerful, rich and influential men only view girls and women — and interactions with them — through the lens of sex

A famous actor of remarkable skill died at a very ripe old age today. Beyond his art, he's known for taking a stand that helped end the terror of the McCarthy years, & for raping a 16 yo girl, events that happened just a few yrs apart. I'm purposely not using his name because 1/
