I am convinced that we cannot speak well about gender and sexuality in the Church, and that the Church cannot respond with a prophetic and Christian voice to the increasingly damaging national discourse about trans people, until we recognize epistemic injustice for what it is – an aspect of the fallen condition of humanity that the Church is duty bound to set its face against. When beloved children of God face both interpersonal and institutional violence while being denied the ability to meaningfully participate in society and Church, the Church remains complicit in violence and exclusion.

Ironically, the first report discussed media framing and how trans perspectives are squeezed out. This capitulation, including pulling both reports (and not apologising to the trans community for doing shoddy work in such an important area, since that's what they're claiming), proves the point.

We've been asking 'difficult questions' as a euphemism for cuts for nearly 20 years now. The actual 'difficult questions' are around how we fund adequate support when 'cut and cut again' has clearly failed.

I was only able to afford my MSc and PhD study because I was doing lighting and sound and carrying a lot of steel deck when I wasn't studying. Student labour and student spending, as well as universities as employers, are hugely important to the economies of student towns and cities.

Actually, by admitting assistance dogs you make this a mixed species space. It would be unlawful discrimination to allow assistance dogs without allowing all other animals.

Blessed are those who ensure long-term capital growth, for they will meet the church's legal obligations.

The reason: "the secretary general of the archbishops’ council, said [the] motion was inconsistent with the church’s legal obligations & responsibility to ensure “long-term capital growth”." All credit to @wildcard.land an inspirational team I met at the Glasgow 'Into the Wild' meeting recently.
