Hi I'm a AAA dev who is now indie. It's a depressing time, and it would be uplifting to see games industry folks boycott The Game Awards. Later this year Geoff is going to be handing awards to people who literally use plagiarism machines, after unheard of layoffs. Please just don't go.

Don´t have much to add to the overall conversation around 2XKO but one thing that has shown up that I always struggled to understand: What makes a fighting game have sauce? I have been struggling to understand what people mean by this cause it seems to be retroactively given to games at times.

So i was wondering why the ashen wolves characters didnt show up in my blue lions run.... I lost my saves ages ago (unfortunate stuff with my old switch) so i was missing the clear flag when starting blue lions. Decided to clear it "real quick" and forgor this campaign has hands.

Gotta say that the 2XKO shutdown is sad but was predictable, the vibes were rancid for me once the layoffs happened right after release. It´s a bit rough being excited for FGs as a player atm with whats been happening. even the game i enjoy (tokon) has the pc issues overshadowing it.

Disability pension has been rejected... I´m supposedly not disabled enough and even if I was I have not paid enough into our pension system here, so my legal aide doesnt even think its worth it to fight the claim. So back to the Jobcenter that has done fuck all these past 4 years to help, yay.

Mark Kern has been “developing” a crowdfunded game for ~10 years. He’s spent most of this time tweeting reactionary bait, histrionic declarations of war, & attacking marginalized folks. He just launched a new game site, seemingly built entirely with AI, saying he needs $3.38M to finish the game.
