Google has also decided to effectively kill the desktop version of Google Earth Pro - which has been a genuinely useful mapping tool for many years. They’ve apparently decided those resources are better spent allowing users to burn AI credits on creating satellite imagery disinformation.

Get Google Earth Pro while you still can.

In an update on Tuesday, Google says it will block users from downloading its Google Earth Pro desktop app starting June 25th, 2027. People can continue to use the app after that date, which offers ac...

Lesson 5.3 IXDF class with @celiahodent.com Presence as an element of engagement has Physical, Narrative & Emotional presence. How the player feels as they play. What if we designed curriculum & classrooms with the same attention to Presence? Could school be as engaging as gameplay? #EduSky

Spain was the best team and really deserved the cup (viva España!) but Mbappé’s smile and talent all throughout the competition will keep a special place in my heart. Merci 🙏🏼

I’m 100% never using gen AI for anything. All of my writing, presentations, and consulting work is done by myself only. #UX is human-centered at its core for a good reason. While gen AI presents huge environmental and ethical problems at its core…

IMO, if one doesn't use GenAI it's important to say so explicitly. Refusing in a highly visible way will not let ppl get away with the claim that "everybody is using it."

I wish France and England would have been playing the finals — this would have been so fun to watch while being in NYC. But still here to watch that game for 3rd place. May the best team win and may the game be fair and clean! Allez les Bleus ! ☺️

Yesterday, WIRED learned that Madison Square Garden was suing us for our accurate reporting. We stand by our work. That’s why we’re removing the paywall from two of the MSG stories they don’t want you to read, making them free for everyone.

Tomorrow will bring severe storms to New York City. Thunderstorms are expected to bring damaging winds strong enough to down trees and power lines, along with heavy rainfall that could cause flash flooding.

At “unhealthy” air quality levels and beyond, it’s actually recommended to wear a N95 mask outside. Be careful, New Yorkers, this air can potentially permanently damage your lungs. (I felt really bad for Trombone Shorty & Orleans Ave who performed outdoors tonight…)

Tomorrow's combination of dangerous heat and unhealthy air is a serious threat to New Yorkers’ health. If you can, stay somewhere cool with air conditioning, limit time outdoors, drink plenty of water, and check on your neighbors — especially older New Yorkers and anyone with a health condition.

Nearly every time I come to NYC in the summer for G4C festival now. And no headlines about this in the main news outlet so I spent time outdoors without wearing a mask…Felt particularly bad for Trombone Shorty & Orleans Ave playing outdoors tonight & potentially damaging their lungs..😥 #planetonfire

So… Apparently someone is impersonating me on Discord to make gamedevs believe I can help them find a job (thanks Nidal Nijm for letting me know). I’m happy to help folks who’d like resume/portfolio feedback but I sadly don’t have opportunities to share. 1/2
