Yup. Two important points. a) It's amazing how disabled and trans people are treated them same way by both sides of the political divide. b) "Insanity" tells you as much as what they think of trans people as what they think of the disabled/mentally ill/etc. Trans people are the testing ground.

I think the weirdest thing about being a modern atheist is unpacking how much of your prior religious life (culture, food, because religion isn't just belief) you need to keep in order to survive and how much of your religious life you need to excise from you like a cancer because it will kill you.
Off my unused masters in biblical studies and theology kicked in when I saw an unrelated person who ostensibly is a scholar of the Torah speaking about original sin, but it's so fantastically divorced from a number of things a) There is no original sin in the bible. At least no coherent theology.
And what's interesting is that the "APPEARANCE" (TM) of the attitudes towards trans people and disabled people are at their surface very different "CONCERN" (TM) for disabled people and "DISGUST" (TM) for trans people, but it's the same nonsense at its core.

A lot of centrist leaning ostensibly leftist spaces/groups/parties/etc are very quick to dispose of groups like trans people and disabled people as 'convenient sacrifices' when it comes to "the real issues".

The right clearly always wanted to make abortion illegal and punish women who got them. But they didn't make that their slogan! They knew better!
The transphobic harassment campaign is mass reporting us again. And Bluesky's mods seem to agree that calling people transphobic is the real problem, not the harmful behavior itself.

We now apparently have two strikes on our account for *checks notes* using the moderation list feature. Not even a specific way of using it. Beware if you're trans and have moderation lists. They're apparently coming for you.
