I guess they figured why not alienate Indigenous horror writers while they’re at it?

And that's how the media treat everything the establish don't like. It's everywhere. Experiment in basic income all yield tremendous benefits, but never get implemented. Supporting trans children in their transition is supported by a mountain of evidence, yet remain perceived as experimental.

For progressives/leftist candidates, every election is a “crucial test” and any loss would serve as proof to the media that the latest left-side moment is at its end. Any win, though, just means it’s time to find a new test.
the mainstream press praising rod liddle in death are not unaware he was a bigoted pedophile, they like him for it. the people in their in-group, at the top of their hierarchy, getting away with crimes signals that the world is in order. it is a moral good, to them. the bigger the crimes the better

Don Moynihan@donmoyn.bsky.social · 2d agoMay be wrong here, but my sense is there is a whole media apparatus that aggressively screens Dem candidates and cautions voters not to support the more left-wing candidate. And this is asymmetric. Credible media messengers don't police right-wing candidates the same way.
