I come here every so often on Sunday mornings to just take a quiet breath and chill before the rest of the world wakes up. It's nice to have a little retreat so close by.

Over the weekend I made my way back to Michigan to leave flowers at graves, ending a 9 year journey that started when my dad passed and mom got sick, my brother also having passed in that time. I'm the only one left now, but I know I have my chosen family. I'm not alone.
Havent posted much recently. Breve and I have been renovating our entire home except one room. Just moved back in yesterday. Lots of work yet to do but we're past the hardest parts. Huge thanks to @sprocketdhusky.bsky.social for letting us crash at his place for 8 weeks so far. Pics soon!

Opted to get out of town for a long weekend. May not be the furcon, but I'd say we're still doing alright :)
Given that I have some really big personal projects going on I was only able to spend one night at FE and almost passed on it entirely. But I'm really happy that I went. Was really great to reconnect with some folks I hadn't seen in a while. So many good vibes!!
Did a little test treat crafting this weekend and used all the parts to make this triple chocolate swiss roll

This local Wolfdog joined an Olympic ski event and triggered the finish-line camera. This is Nazgul. He snuck into a cross-country skiing sprint this morning and raced the homestretch with some competitors before being escorted home. 14/10 someone get him a medal
I feel like I should post more, but really my life is pretty predictable. Play hockey, work, love my friends, make treats, and work out to avoid getting overly fat from the treats I make. Simple, but it's pretty great. I could be doing a lot worse.
Random little test bake over the weekend. Working on nailing down my yellow cake recipe and flavoring buttercream with home made caramel sauce. Looks plain, tasted amazing :9
It may not be a fancy cake or pastry, but the buttermilk biscuit makes for a part of my absolute favorite breakfast, the biscuit breakfast sandwich. I figured why not have one more less-than-healthy meal before getting started on burning off those holiday pounds.
Hit the gym for a big push after three nights of insomnia. I'm not sure if that's dedication or stupidity. I would like to collapse and sleep, body willing.
