Three years later, the Alberta government has finally released names of 16 oilsands companies that allegedly flouted rules requiring them to pay for independent environmental monitoring by scientists. @mikedesouza.bsky.social obtained the data.

as a little kid my family went to a theme park and they had a live animal planet show and i got chosen to go on stage and hold a giant snake while bats were released overhead. I think they were hoping for funny scared kid but it was magical, and now I do scicomm and am in grad a ch pool for biology

Are there any positive* events from your childhood that explain a lot about you as an adult? For example: kid-me converted the kitchen playhouse my parents built me into an educational nature center, and my mom took me to meet Dr. Jane Goodall when I was in elementary school I’m a biologist now
