Actually, I don’t mind the new logo too much. As a person who is 23 years as an ACS member outside the US is does signify something a little more global. And I didn’t even know what the apparatus thingy in the old logo was until last year…so for me this one resonates more.

Been a busy week in Canberra. Beautiful weather, lovely people, old friends and family. And then tmrw I fly out and leave my baby girl behind as she opens up the next chapter of her life studying at ANU. I didn’t know it was possible to be so excited and sad at the same time. 😂

Over the years, ChemScrapes has got involved with a number of projects as a way of giving back to the community. Out in the wild you will see many cartoons and drawings on covers, opinion pieces, abstracts, congratulatory cards, etc. it’s fun! 1/3

My wife is smarter than me. 19 years ago. hours after my daughter was born my wife looked at her sadly and said “one day you’re going to leave home”. I laughed and told her not to dwell on such things. Now my daughter is days away from going overseas to study. My wife is prepared. I’m not.

So, last week I found out someone created a ChemScrapes Wikipedia page. I was surprised because actually I didn’t think it would meet notability standards. Sure enough it doesn’t, and the page has warnings all over it. Then, midweek I found out that the page has been marked for deletion 1/2 #chemsky
