There actually is GOOD NEWS to share: Dana Milbank is back with political commentary to resume in June under the banner "The Star." In his preliminary essay, he reflects on what WaPo wouldn't publish any longer. It's a concise but accurate summary!

My column in The Star begins in June, but in this @notus.com essay I look back on my 10-month exile from politics and ask: What did I miss? Donald Trump still governs with the same signature blend of bluster, grift and bumbling. But the country has changed. www.notus.org/perspectives...

Yeah, well, Nuremberg was supposed to guarantee that the crimes against humanity perpetrated by THOSE Nazis would never happen again; nonetheless, Lindsey Graham is the head cheerleader of the continuation of a party that should have died at the end of a rope in 1945.

Lindsey Graham: "Here's what I learned: Iran makes a deal to make sure they never do this again, or we will destroy their infrastructure to survive as a nation. That's their choice, and that's the big takeaway tonight for me."

De Niro: It doesn’t matter if you’re a Democrat, a Republican, or an Independent—no one, no one voted for new wars. No one voted for higher prices at the pump. No one voted for higher prices in grocery stores, and no one voted for government-masked thugs shooting down our citizens in the streets.

"THEY" are nothing if not consistent: "They" have embraced corruption ever since Nixon/Agnew. The only distinction that matters is "they" squeezed it tighter with every election cycle, and now they feel threatened by the chance that they will lose what they know they never should have had or done. .

James Talarico: They’re scared of the movement we are building. They’re gonna throw everything they have at us. They’re gonna call me a ‘radical leftist.’ They’re going to call me a ‘fake Christian.’ They’ll call us a threat. The only truth is — we are a threat to their corrupt system.

Sen. Coons: The clearest winner from this war in Iran is Russia. It's stunning that Trump is on the phone with Vladimir Putin and spending more time consulting with him than he is with Congress and the American people.

According to CBS, Iran is placing mines in the Strait of Hormuth. Russia is an intricate and essential part of Iran's ad hoc advisory staff. Russia's sole interest is invested in weakening Europe/Eurasia and knows that the Middle East has always been a powder keg awaiting a lit match.

Jennifer Jacobs posted:
NEWS via @CBSNews: U.S. intelligence assets have begun to see indications Iran is taking steps to deploy mines in Strait of Hormuz shipping lane. Iran is using smaller crafts that can carry 2 to 3 mines each While Iran's mine stock isn't publicly known, estimates over the years have ranged from roughly 2,000 to 6,000 naval mines of Iranian, Chinese and Russian-made variants, @JimLaPorta reports

Leaders of both parties should be calling for Witkoff's immediate resignation after these remarks. He is a Russian patsy, a traitor, and this has just gone for too long. It is has to end.

But Republicans citing "Conservative" principles, government spending is too high and the debt MUST be paid down which has been the justification for cutting spending on the American people, and now we are being asked to sacrifice to pay for Trump's war as if there was anything left to give up.

Capitol Hill Republicans are about to confront a staggering price tag for Trump’s Middle East war. Some GOP lawmakers are hearing estimates that the Pentagon is spending as much as $2 billion a day.

Corruption was the pet project from Nixon to Reagan when the Falwell/Weyrich Project declared: Morality can legitimately be compromised when the ends justify the means. Restoration of uncompromised morality and ethics will correct the course of politics.

Talarico: It doesn’t matter what happens in this Republican runoff. We already know who we’re running against — the billionaire megadonors and their corrupt political system. The only truth in that is that we are a threat — a threat to their corrupt system.

The American political class is utterly delusional, adrift in a dream of normality, unable to process the actual reality of events on the ground, where the US just launched a completely unprovoked war against a massive country, murdered its leadership, and demanded its conversion to a vassal state.
