I write stories. I also teach middle school. Both can be fairly surreal. She/her. Imaginaryresearch.wordpress.com
This story probes the depths of two pits of monstrosity: history and the deep sea
My story, The Lure, is this month's featured free story in The Sunday Morning Transport. www.sundaymorningtransport.com/p/the-lure Discover what secrets wait beneath the surface at the island of Saint Helena: "For hunger, like justice, only waits so long."
My story "Potential Energy," about a witch who lives at the top of the Tejon Pass and distributes mixed blessings to the hungry ambitious, is out in Covens, Cauldrons, and Curses Gone Right, alongside many other fine stories! eternalhauntedsummer.com/gorgons-gaze...

Every time I return to NYC, I marvel at the city’s combination of off-put and convenience, its unfriendly friendliness.
Sometimes you just have a flee the manor in a nightgown… I had a great time talking Gothic novels at today’s #MetropolCon panel with @claudiarapp.bsky.social , @rflong.bsky.social, @sarahreesbrennan.bsky.social and Rogelio Ribeiro

Yes it could be argued that keeping up with world events is important but alternatively can I interest you in hugging an ancient mossy boulder that looks like a face and quietly listening while it tells you stories from centuries cloaked in mist.

Jane Yolen (1939-1926) was one of the authors whose works sheltered me through the gauntlet of middle school and showed me the power, beauty, and brutality of storytelling. I would not be the person I am today without her words and stories inside me.
My hot take: this series is more subtle and satisfying than ASOIAF.
I would be REMISS in not bringing this sale on King's Dragon ebook to your attention.
Anthony Stewart Head will always be a real one for this. RIP www.thepinknews.com/2019/12/20/a...
Heartwarming story of Buffy's Giles going out of his way for a young trans fan
Tired: J.K. Rowling supporting a woman with anti-trans views. Wired: Buffy actor Anthony Stewart-Head quietly going above and beyond for his trans fans.

One week from the end of the school year, and I’m dangerously close to becoming Murderbot—though whether that’s so I could efficiently eliminate hostiles or secretly watch media while at work is anyone’s guess
Starts at 7! Very close to 16th street BART

There’s a good moon out there too if you’ve got clear skies 🌿
This is a reminder to step away from the news if you haven’t taken a break in a bit. Maybe look at the sky or a tree or a bird #SkySky 🌿
