A motorist in Amsterdam was pulled over for being a public noise nuisance with his car. Noise measurement tests were done and the car was found to be in violation. The driver had to continue his journey on foot and the car is not allowed on public infrastructure until the exhaust is properly muffled

The system I'm responsible for at work was crawled by Amazonbot half a million times last month. The same few public-facing pages were requested over, and over, and over - averaging 1000 requests an hour (with a few breaks). That represents almost four times it's normal load. You stupid FUCKS.

It's after 9:00 p.m. on the Stanley Park seawall and I still feel like I can barely make it 25 meters without having to inhale someone's pot/cigarette smoke. I want my bike lane back. Ban smoking in parks.

Irrespective of any particular incident, I just wanna state that Canada's criminal justice system *does* need to do a better job with regards to the number of violent re-offenders. But locking more people up (and throwing away the key) isn't the answer, better rehabilitation is.

For the first time in my life I’ve had occasion to interact with another country’s medical system and good lord the US system is Not It.

Why, yes, I am an entitled cyclist. I need to get places on my bike and feel entitled to NOT DIE while doing it.

I feel like so many people need to hear this: Compassion isn’t just humane, it’s fiscally responsible. It’s far cheaper to keep people housed, healthy, and supported than it is to deal with the fallout after their lives have gone off the rails. Prevention costs less than crisis. Every single time.

I'm primarily Linux, but reboot into Windows first time in 2 years to get firmware updates, and I figured I'd update all the software while I'm there, but holy fuck, between Dell and MS, I've reboot a dozen times, and it's taking all fucking afternoon, and I didn't even tell it to do 25H2 yet!
