It's funny that Jeanine Pirro brought a box of evidence to WH to persuade Trump. He wants her to consciously *throw out* exculpatory facts and *knowingly* prosecute innocent people. So facts can't persuade him by definition. Me and @barbmcquade.bsky.social on this: newrepublic.com/article/2139...

I need to know how this works so I can fix it. Just about there. 🇺🇦 🇨🇦 🇲🇽
Chuck should have done more praying and reflecting BEFORE he decided it was OK to sexually harass women who worked for him. Guys like this invoking God is ultimate ich.

I would take back the time that I would otherwise have wasted weed-whacking back attempts to install robot bloatware on my devices, and I would use it to do a little dance.
My answer is LOL ROFL (dickbrain) The terminally AI-pilled can't even *imagine* some people have *never* asked stochastic parrots to cheat at their job for them.
Seconded. It’s wrong on principle, it’s unamerican—we rejected religious tests for office and dual loyalty smears with JFK, Jewish Americans, more—and every minority (especially but not exclusively religious) should recognize it as yet another assertion that only white Christians are real Americans.
i really have no patience whatsoever for people who are scared of muslims having elected office
Fun fact: I just published the full story on this topic mere minutes ago. By my count, at least 12 pastors, seminarians & former clergy have launched campaigns for federal office this year, and 5 are already nominees. In response, the GOP is attacking their faith. religionnews.com/2026/08/04/p...
'They're not real pastors': As clergy run as Democrats, Republicans question their faith
(RNS) — 'It's a sign that they are really scared they're gonna lose this seat,' the Rev. Sarah Trone Garriott, a Lutheran pastor running for Congress in Iowa, said. She is part of a wave of religious ...

Highly recommend listening to @jackjenkins.me in conversation with Dr. Amanda Henderson:
WWJD vs WWTD
"Pastors in Name Only" "Wicked Witch of Woke" “I've never seen anyone commit so much blasphemy against the word of God." As pastors become Democratic nominees — at least 5 so far, and likely one more tonight — their Republican opponents are attacking their faith. religionnews.com/2026/08/04/p...
If you show up to Bluesky without following anyone, you'll be treated to a series of posts about art, music, and dogs. If you show up to X without following anyone, you'll be bombarded with right-wing conspiracies and white supremacist slop. It's weird which one is seen as a "political bubble"
🧵1/4 Thank you, @esglaude.bsky.social for sharing "The Shape of Fear" 1926 by W.E.B. Du Bois! could've been written today. If you are not familiar w/ the post-WWI KKK resurgence, it's a critical read. History is repeating itself. Ignore its lessons at our peril. open.substack.com/pub/esglaude...

New Yorkers had to subsidize the $117 million that the NYPD paid out for misconduct lawsuits in 2025 alone, even though most of them were never personally abused by a cop. Where's your worried op-ed on that one?
Opinion: Mamdani's idea may sound appealing, but it's NYC taxpayers who will take the hit, subsidizing discounts they may never even use.
Being able to use your phone or computer is all about the coders and their techbro overlords, NOT you. Here is a wonderful (tho very techy) story from a programmer for a UK utility who created a website for all their users, not just those with the latest tech.
Given yesterday's convo about HTML as it went into the age of Dreamweaver, got this from a coworker and wish more dev work was done this way: mohkohn.co.uk/writing/html...
One of my most distinct memories of the pandemic was how quiet main avenues were (our apt overlooked Columbus Ave) except for the ambulances going by every few minutes - and too many headed for buildings in our neighborhood, including ours. Nobody wasn't scared! RFK Jr is a psychotic liar.
There were refrigerated trucks full of cadavers in the parking lot of one Weggman's. Unidentified bodies were being buried in stacks on Hart Island. The ambulance sirens never stopped. Health care workers risked everything and were worked to the bone. What was RFK doing during this time?
I worked for New York’s largest medical center at the start of the pandemic. There were morgue trucks on the streets. They set up emergency medical tents in Central Park. Healthcare worker colleagues died. It is horrific that RFK Jr is on national TV lying that ICUs were empty.
Hospitals in NYC were setting up triage tents outside hospitals (including one in Central Park) just to handle the stream of new Covid cases. They didn't do it because Dr. Fauci said so. Frustrating that this delusional idiot is invited, let alone allowed, to be on news shows.
Refrigerated trucks had to be used to store the bodies of the dead..... WTF is RFK talking about??????
This evil POS should have been thrown in jail for contempt by the judge who handled that case! His utter lack of respect for everyone and anyone is clear. This makes him ideal for his role as MAGAT hit man. #CrimeSyndicate
Republicans are totally into hypocrisymaxxing.
The diarrhea lettuce company, Taylor Farms, uses slave labor contracted from the Arizona Dept. of Corrections. The backbreaking labor is often performed by imprisoned Mexican nationals who would be otherwise ineligble to work in the US. They are paid $1.50 an hour.
Reminder that one of the tenets of Conservatism is that assistance has to be earned. Which is pretty fucked up for the most part. @justinwolfers.bsky.social has been talking about the significance of non-monetary barriers affecting everything from free markets to govt safety nets. Good stuff.
Means-tested programs like SNAP are shaped not just by benefit levels, but by hassle. And hassle is regressive: it hits hardest when you lack a car, flexibility, cash, or time. https://newsletter.platypuseconomics.com/p/how-snaps-new-rules-make-eligible

This. Looking for answers (or even valid viewpoints) from well known or widely looked up to people is just lazy and stupid. Just stop it!
Yeah, this absolutely drives me crazy. This is not my job. I'm not a reporter and I'm not an elected official. I do this when and how I feel like it. Not only am I under no obligation to anyone to publish a take about every single subject, it would be grossly irresponsible for me to do that.
When you RT Trump's bullshit posts w/no filter, you help to make them go viral, you WILLINGLY confirm that he is the arbiter of truth, and you also drown out news reports on his abuse. He plays you all every single time.
Will a member of the press clearly ask the president about his claims that sick people viciously used knives, box cutters, razors to cut a 350 foot gash... Ah screw it, he'll lie anyway and his MAGA faithful will believe him. www.thedailybeast.com/donald-trump...
Trump’s Reflecting Pool Lies Exposed in Humiliating Admission
The “vandals” Trump blamed never existed, according to his own administration.

DOJ just kicking the door wide open to people putting their hands in reflecting pools. This isn’t the America I grew up in.
True. And the photo they sent showed a license plate that was one number off. I actually don't mind the idea of traffic cameras, except when they fail miserably.
Having received a traffic violation summons that included a photo of a vehicle that was not mine (it was dismissed based on that fact), I am not surprised. #WhatCanGoWrong ?
Another Trump pump & dump: 1) Trump buys stock in a company price 2) Comm Dept buys a big chunk of stock in same co 3) Price goes up bc of U.S. Govt purchase 4) Trump sells stock at higher price 5) All the Republicans swoon in admiration of such a savvy business move
@whitehouse-47.bsky.social The United States of America is NOT supposed to engage in this. A RECKONING WILL HAPPEN IN NOVEMBER.
“If they make more, we must be making less. If they export more, we must be losing.” That’s the zero-sum story in a nutshell. It’s also not how trade works. https://newsletter.platypuseconomics.com/p/the-lawyers-theory-of-trade
If you're pissed off that your mom is getting hit with this perfectly reasonable tax on stupidly rich people, then you are a privileged brat who needs to sit down and STFU.
Oh no, not your mom’s pied-a-terre!!!!!!!
-Being Liberal 1/ "Republicans called him a communist who'd confiscate small businesses. Then Mamdani's administration cut 50+ regulations" A socialist mayor delivered the deregulation the GOP claims to want. Sit with that."
The message from Republicans is clear. If you want to enrich yourself and your family, to break laws with impunity, to punish your enemies and jail your critics, then the federal government is the place to be. But if you want to help ordinary Americans and try to keep them safe, well, fuck you.
