Sad update, my beautiful Blini passed in her sleep. She had a number of health issues and a recent surgical procedure (that was necessary) plus the heatwaves were all too much. She passed quietly at night at home. Mimo is so far doing ok. Blini got me through many difficult times, I miss her dearly

Today's proof showing how billionaires hate everyone other than themselves. This Trump loving asshole is firing 21,000 employees because he gambled and is losing. To think people wonder why the DSA is gaining popularity in the US. www.jpost.com/business-and...

AI bet goes awry: Oracle fires 21,000 employees | The Jerusalem Post

Oracle laid off ~13% of its staff to fund a $300B computing deal with OpenAI. Now, a credit downgrade and $7B in required power grid guarantees put the massive project in jeopardy.

Yeah, bragging about having support of mass murder Kissinger or rightwing wacko Liz Cheney makes sense though right? JFC these bed wetters are the worst and should spend a lot more time asking why so many support the DSA over who has been governing.

The vibes may be exciting, but if Democrats are going to win this year and in 2028, they must reject the DSA. If you’re tempted by a democratic socialist this year, think of what use Republicans will make of these victories, and ask whether you want to do favors for fascists.

Faster response times by the Paris fire department thanks to new larger bike lanes is something cities such as Berlin, Montréal and other cities should consider as they turn back the clock on cycling. It's also something progressive cities should think about when building out.

▪ 486 294 interventions (+3 %)
▪ 1332 interventions de moyenne / jour (+3 %)
▪ 11 077 incendies (+21 %) et 119 sauvetages sur feu (+35 %)
▪ Durée moyenne d’une intervention SAV9 : 71 min
▪ Durée moyenne d’une intervention incendie : 78 min (-4’)
▪ Délai moyen de déplacement10 : 6 min 15 s (-6’’)
▪ 136 actes d’agressions envers les secours (+2 %

The Paris fire service report 2025 shows time to arrival at a call out has decreased since the major roll out of protected cycle lanes in Paris (from 7m23s in 2019 to 6m15s in 2025). Increasing safety for cyclists and discouraging cars from the city center has shortened emergency response times.

Looked around for beach stuff since my teenage goddaughter is visiting and found an inflatable crocodile at Action for 6€. Saw the exact same thing at a local beach store for 20€!

Gates Foundation continued to meet with Epstein after he (Epstein) pleaded guilty to solicitation of a minor. It's no wonder Gates shows up for every Trump event with TechBros. Can't believe anyone thinks we should let this guy decide anything about our future. apnews.com/article/bill...

The Gates Foundation met with Epstein about 30 times despite staff concerns, an external review says

An external review of the Gates Foundation's ties to Jeffrey Epstein has found that staff met more than two dozen times with the disgraced financier.

LOL the TechBros are already running out of cash with little hope left of anything other than a fire sale or government bailout and now cheap/free AI tools from China ready to deliver the death blow. I hope they don't order too many private jets and yachts too early.

Enten on polling for Trump's war on Iran: "Historically unpopular is the phrase I'd use. The war was unpopular to start & it's become even less popular... 40 points underwater!... more than 2 in 3 Americans say the Iran was not worth it... even less than the 40% who said the Iraq war was worth it."

Microsoft is planning to build three massive AI data centres in Leeds. They'll drain 1000s of litres of water from the River Aire and become the city's biggest carbon emitter. We can still stop the council's final sign-off, but we need more voices. Add your name: you.38degrees.org.uk/petitions/pr...

Stop the Microsoft AI megasite in Leeds!

Microsoft wants to build three huge AI data centres at Skelton Grange. It would drain the River Aire and become the city's biggest carbon emitter. We can still stop it - add your name to the petition.
