Tangential thought: pretty much every proposal to extend the streetcar includes a path past this building. I know expansion talks are currently dormant but wouldn't it be nice if the system could grow?

So true! In 2018 I spent a bunch of time driving around SE Missouri, where the GOP holds EVERY elected office, and seeing "RIGHT TO WORK IS A LIE" yard signs everywhere. The related ballot measure was overwhelmingly rejected.

I shoot off dozens of emails a day using email templates. It's a timesaver and ensures consistency with my coworkers' work and we didn't have to use Claude or ChatGPT or whatever.

EA officially goes private tonight, meaning: - EA will no longer trade on the NASDAQ for the first time in 36 years - All stockholders of EA (including many employees) will receive $210/share - EA will take on $18 billion (!) in debt, putting it on the hook to pay ~$1.8 billion/year in interest

This place just sits vacant because there are just too many other, better ways to spend your money if you want to start a place of business and/or rehab an old building.

My mom spoke about an amusement park in her town that opened when I was 27 years old and she said "Dad and I used to take you there when you were a kid, right?" It's like if ANY child does/enjoys a thing, she starts to think that her children did that thing, too.

I saw this screen on a gas pump today and thought "Maybe I'll post it with something like 'Fuck you! I won't follow your bullshit rules!'" and then right when I snapped the photo the driver in the car on the other side pulled away with the nozzle still in their car. It was an exciting moment.
