Okanagan Falls is becoming a municipality—the first in B.C. in 16 years. As the District of Okanagan Falls, residents will elect a mayor and four councillors in the 2026 General Local Elections. This puts local decisions in local hands. [Photo by Jack Borno]

🚨BIG housing news for British Columbians🚨 Today, BC and the federal government announced that we’re investing more than $5 billion in our province’s infrastructure. We’re going to use that $ to build more housing that people can actually afford.

I lost my dad last week. Below is a link to the obituary my sister @naomiaklein.bsky.social and I wrote this weekend (helps to have a sister who’s a pretty good writer 😉), along with a bunch of photos. A few more reflections. 🧵... everloved.com/life-of/mich...

Renters👇 this one’s for you.   Housing is way too expensive. It makes life hard when such a large part of your income goes towards your rent. This has to change.   Here’s the good news: asking rents in B.C. are finally going down — and it’s not by accident. A #homesforpeople 🧵

Across BC, renters are starting to see real relief:  • Asking rents are down 12.5% from 2023  • Vacancy rates are rising  • More options for renters, including ability to negotiate their rent • 26,000+ purpose-built rentals registered in 2025  Progress is underway, with more to do.

BC is building more rental homes than we've seen in decades

[Bar graph: Net change in purpose-built rentals registered by year; starting at 1992 with -3452 to 2025 with +6473]

Even Conservative MLAs don't support Kerry-Lynne Findlay and her Trump-style politics. She attacked the family of Conservative MLA Peter Milobar just because they're Indigenous. She's the most extreme, divisive party leader in BC history. No wonder pro-Trump MLAs all back her.

Welcome to 375 Glen Dr, where we just opened 248 homes and shelter spaces for people in the DTES 🏢♥️ That’s 248 spaces added to 1,100 new and renovated spaces in the DTES opened since 2023, and almost 700 more opening by the end of this year! - A #homesforpeople thread 🧵

Every parent knows the struggle of keeping your kid safe online. Unregulated social media platforms & AI tools are exposing young people to real harm. Self‑policing by tech companies has failed.

Really pleased to share some good news alongside Mayor Tom Dyas this morning: Kelowna will be the first community to benefit from our accelerated short-term rental opt-out timeline after vacancy rates stayed above 3% for two years 🎉
