In the fall I shared about one of the most painful experiences of my academic career, which was having an editor ask me to revise perceived political content in a paper that had been accepted for publication. In my last communication with the journal, I told them we would not make the changes.

An ed psych journal is refusing to publish our manuscript unless we "neutralize" "political" content. This is after the manuscript was peer-reviewed and accepted for publication. DM me for details! I'm devastated. Two years of work and revisions with four junior co-authors cast aside that easily.

Division 15 folks! Find me or Wade to get your Social Justice and Equity in Education buttons and stickers: -Ask me about decolonizing my syllabus -Decolonization is not a metaphor -Ask me about an anti-colonial ed psych -Ask me about Takin' It to the Streets -Ask me about race-reimaging ed psych

I'm at #APA2025! Join me for the Div 15 Committee on Social Justice and Equity in Education reception at the Denver Art Museum tonight 5-7pm for free food and drinks Or for Friday's critical conversation on the future of DEI in ed psych at 11:30 Or to hear about my DSMRI project at 2:30 Friday

The CDC is removing data sets that researchers widely rely upon because they include information on sexual orientation and gender identity. “It feels like they’re trying to will us out of existence,” one researcher tells @theresagaff.bsky.social: www.statnews.com/2025/01/31/c...

The USAF removed Tuskegee Airmen & Women Airforce Service Pilots of WWII from basic training curriculum. For 30 years I promised these women I would not let them ever be forgotten again. We worked for decades to have them remembered. The Airmen too. Knowledge is power. 🗃️ www.msn.com/en-us/societ...

I haven't seen many of you since SRA or APA, so here's what I'm up to: Not much research this fall for various *reasons* but I'm excited to move into the validation stage of the Measure of African American STEM Identity with Angela White and Tanya Malloy
