ECMAScript excitement 😉 Congrats to @chronicles.org on meeting the conditions for Explicit Resource Management to be Stage 4 at @tc39.es today 🎉 It introduces `using` declarations and the Symbol.dispose protocol to deterministically and ergonomically release resources 👍 github.com/tc39/proposa...

I saw Project: Hail Mary last Thursday and it blew me away. Easily among my top 10 favorite movies. I'd listened to Ray Porter's amazing narration of the novel a few years ago, so I'd been looking forward to the adaptation for a while. I'm curious how it held up for anyone who hadn't read the book.

ECMAScript Excitement 🎉 This week, TC39 elected a new editor group for the ECMAScript specification (ECMA-262). Editors are: ✨ Linus Groh ✨ Michael Ficarra ✨ Nicolò Ribaudo (@nicr.dev) ✨ Richard Gibson ✨ Ron Buckton (@chronicles.org) ✨ Shu-yu Guo (@rfrn.org)

After taking some time off and spending the summer with my kids before they go back to college, I'm happy to announce that I'll be starting a new role at F5 next week! Thanks to everyone that reached out over the past few months. I'm very much looking forward to what's next!

fun news! I was laid off from Twilio. going to take this weekend to chill out, and will start looking for roles next week. if you or someone you know is looking for staff/principal level Developer Advocacy, OSPO, dev infra, or similar roles pass them along! reposts from tech folks appreciated <3

The storm that blew through PA knocked out power in my neighborhood and downed trees on the only two ways out. The trees have seen been cleared, but the estimate for power coming back up is *sunday*. No AC during the entirety of the heat advisory this weekend is not going to be fun.

After 18 years at Microsoft, with roughly a decade of that time working on TypeScript, I have unfortunately been let go in the latest round of layoffs. I need to take a few days to process before I start looking for work. Thanks to everyone who's been part of my journey so far.

ECMAScript excitement 😉 Congrats to @chronicles.org on advancing the Enum proposal to Stage 1 at TC39 today 🎉 This aims to bring the good parts of TypeScript enums to JavaScript plus enhancements such as new datatypes & potentially runtime performance improvements 👍 github.com/tc39/proposa...

My 3D printing hobby has now evolved beyond a shelf in my office to it's own space in the basement. Still a work in progress, but I just finished setting up a fume ventilation system for my new Elegoo Saturn 4. Also pictured is my old Ender 3 Pro. #3dprinting

I need to get a new smooth PEI build plate for my Bambu Lab X1C. Any other #3dprinting enthusiasts have suggestions for third party build plates? Bambu is experiencing shipping delays and I need to finish a few prints before Christmas.

I have been without power since about 10am this morning. Luckily my generator still works, so I was able to get internet back up to attend TC39 in the morning, but the rest of my day was spent installing a transfer switch so I could power my furnace and well pump.

Having gained 200+ followers in the last 24 hours, now would be a good time to reintroduce myself. I've been at Microsoft for over 17 years with the better part of the last decade working on @TypeScript and I'm thankful to have been a part of Microsoft's OSS journey. 1/2
