“Lettering is supposed to be invisible” is a little simplistic. If the letterer is doing their job w/ skill, and in harmony w/ the art, it elevates the comic even though you might not register HOW. Bad lettering is more noticeable because it drags the art & writing down with it.

Finished a comic page that was giving me months of trouble. Hoping to pick up speed and get back into a comfortable rhythm soon 🤞

if art is your income: don't monetize everything you create. "wow maybe I can sell this as a comm (feverish passion project that you did for fun)" don't do this. keep somethings for yourself to enjoy

I'm not the first to say this, but supporting someone's comic career doesn't require money. It can be as simple as giving them a compliment, cheering them on, boosting work that you like or sharing when they're looking for more work. These things are appreciated and make a huge difference.

I want the average webcomic reader to recognize webtoon is merely one oversanitized commercial platform and not the totality of webcomics, and be willing to dig through links pages to find gold.

People who go around saying there isn't any webcomics out to read need to find people in webcomic community and get some sweet recs. I know the algorithm online nowadays is borked, but there's a bazillion webcomics out there. I just finished my tenth one of this year. You can do it! Find comics!

If you'd like to help the indie community, support the people over at Comic Fury, Spider Forest, Comic Rocket, Webcomic Library, Webcomic Travelogue, Comix Cleric- and many more. Check out those places for webcomic resources and to keep things creator owned. That was the whole point of webcomics.

RE: Hiveworks stuff, it's become really clear is how much of the toxicity of the leadership came from seeing fellow artists as competition and threats rather than comrades who lift each other up. The world is big enough for all of us. I hope we can work together and fight our real enemy (fascists)
