had not even thought of this before but such a good point. ghostwriting has been around for thousands of years and is morally accepted part of publishing to point where we kind of assume it for many celebrity non fiction books. AI goofs are so lazy they cant even be bothered for THAT much effort
That just sounds like they need to hire a ghost writer.
i feel like a good metaphor for this would be a hot new chef having a meal laid out when their investors arrive (they actually ordered take out) so they get huge investment and on the restaurants opening night their kitchen staff immediately realizes the chef dosent know how to even turn on the oven
interesting thing that is rarely talked about with authors trying to use AI in debut novels: you will get caught once edits start or at MOST on book two. self publishing is different i suppose, but anyone out there trying to break into traditional publishing with AI clearly does not know the process

dang @beetlemoses.bsky.social is just so incredible. every time i see one of these comics it makes me smile and sometimes laugh but honestly the thing i see the most is such a potent sense of beauty. there is just so much sincerity within the absurdity. i love it. resonates with so much power
had such a great time at comic con especially seeing the new buckaroos trotting out their debut horror novels. i wanted to highlight THREE NEW NIGHTFIRE AUTHORS with horror novels to preorder, @deenahelm.bsky.social @taylorlgrothe.bsky.social and @mathildazeller.bsky.social. here are their books:

gonna keep my KING OF THE HILL praise going and say from the trot of a storyteller i went in thinking 'gonna be really difficult because you lose SO MUCH by aging up bobby and making him more 'normal' that is like the crux of the show between him and hank how can this work?' BUT IT WORKS. incredible
so many disappointing reboots these days that even hearing NEWS of one seems to cause eyerolls instead of excitement, but i gotta say the new KING OF THE HILL episodes are just incredible. feels like they are slightly overlooked after pulling off the impossible and trotting back at such a high level
honestly i think buckaroos consider a daily gratitude practice to be some overwhelmingly difficult thing and really it is just this. very nice work bud
This is probably silly, but every now and then I stop and look at things like viaducts, shopping carts, chickens eating corn, or cats rolling there and back in sunlight and think how incredibly unlikely all of this is in the grand scheme of things. We could've been a barren ball of rock.
