Real talk: This has been a hard summer. I haven't had a conversation with anyone who isn't paid to listen to me since May. I always thought that once I got to this age, I would have things that matter; a partner, a family, maybe even a house. I never thought it would be like this. Empty.

Never in the history of the Red Sox franchise have they won 26 times in 29 games. And this is the collection of hitters who have done it. Imagine thinking anyone can predict sports.

A listing of the offensive statistics during the Red Sox 26-3 run, topped in plate appearances by Ceddanne Rafaela, Wilyer Abreu, Caleb Durbin, Jarren Duran, Andruw Monasterio, Anthony Seigler, Willson Contreras, Masataka Yoshida, and Connor Wong.

I was 18 and just had my first pap smear. The nurse practitioner called me and told me I had stage 3 cancer, but that they wanted to do another test "just to be sure." Spoilers- I didn't have cancer. And I needed to have screenings every 3 months for a year after that.

A question from Reddit that I'll answer here: "What's the most unhinged thing a doctor has said to you with a straight face?"

I do not believe that the EHRC guidance will stand, its inherent flaws and contradictions will not survive practical attempts to implement it. And people (both cis and trans) will be less safe as a result of it. The @goodlawproject.org will bring a legal challenge and they deserve support.

🚨 BREAKING We are supporting a legal challenge to the Code of Practice. And we need your help. Join us in fighting back 👇

Pubic Service Announcement The Vagina Museum is trans inclusive. Always has been, always will be. Today the new EHRC Code of Practice comes into effect. Let us be clear, the guidance changes nothing about how we operate.

Ever notice the bright blue patch on Boston's ducks? It's called a speculum, an iridescent patch of wing feathers that helps mallards recognize each other in flight. Nature's built-in identifier. 💙

The email from Amnesty International UK is even more gaslighting than their public statement… 😖 Including ‘gender critical’ transphobic tropes such as “rolling back women’s hard won rights” and treating trans people with “dignity”! F*ck them!!! 😖😣 Donation cancelled.

AMNESTY INTERNATIONAL
Dear Lead Activist
As you may well have seen, Amnesty International UK recently made a public apology for the publication of the briefing "A growing threat: the anti-rights movement in the UK". This document should never have been published, and full responsibility for this error rests with Amnesty International UK.The briefing was taken down shortly after publication, was not actively promoted, and will not be republished. We have an ongoing internal investigation into how this briefing came to be published. As part of this process, we have also withdrawn an earlier more discursive briefing, "Like a Snowball," which similarly referenced a wide range of organisations.
AIUK holds itself to the highest standards of research, evidence and editorial oversight in all its publications. We have concluded that this briefing does not meet those standards. We will commission an independent external review to learn from this moment to ensure our work meets the high standards expected of us and of the wider Amnesty movement.Amnesty International UK is deeply committed to our work on gender justice. We are committed to the rights of all women and all girls the world over who face multiple and increasing attempts to roll back their hard won rights. We are committed to the rights of all trans people, in the UK and globally, as their fundamental human rights, dignity and very existence comes under sustained attack.
Our commitment to the idea that all people should be safe from gender-based violence, oppression, discrimination and hatred remains emphatic and absolute.
It is my mission as CEO to defend the idea that rights belong equally to everyone, to build bridges and synergies in a world where divisions are becoming both deeper and more entrenched. We know that this will be disappointing, frustrating and upsetting for our supporters, members and activists and for this, too, we apologise without reservation. We know that you champion and represent the organisation, put your trust in its outputs, and rightly have high expectations of our research and our actions. We commit to listening, learning from our mistakes, and ensuring AIUK remains a fearless champion for human rights and universal equality.
Yours sincerely
Kerry
