Every authoritarian movement in history began by identifying a vulnerable group whose rights were framed as negotiable. How hard you are willing to fight for trans rights is the litmus test for whether or not you understand solidarity. It’s all of us or none of us.

"Trans rights are not the most important issue right now" Not standing up to protect our trans siblings is letting someone put a jackhammer into the foundation of human rights. It is absolutely critical we support one another.

Thor 4 was so bad Taika got put in directors jail, Ant man 3 was torn apart by the trades, Morbius got dunked on so hard by everyone it got turned into a joke, Joker 1 was accused of inciting incel terrorism and joker 2 was absolutely slaughtered online Supergirl is in no way unique in this regard

Jessie Gender@jessiegender.bsky.social · last mo.

The Supergirl discourse is frustrating to watch because ultimately it’s a mid movie; a mid movie with some interesting ideas that it fails to fully explore. But the discourse is it’s utter trash or needs (off chauvinistic) defending of its better ideas. Women’s media is unable to simply be mid.

I know this is not the biggest concern going these days, but it stresses me out that basically every artist/writer/critic is now expected to create their own tiny empire instead of getting paid by any existing entity to perform a job they've worked to get good at!!!!

wow you have dogshit taste (remembers im trying to be nicer to people who like different things) uh i mean, it's beautiful how the breadth of human experience is so wide it encompasses those with good taste and those with dogshit taste

Really telling that of all the political analysis about the defeat of Keir Starmer, none addresses this at all. Yet, for a lot of people it really was one of the turning points of his short-lived premiership, and in a lot of cases it is *the thing* that they remember Starmer for

For those of us who see Palestinians as human beings, this was Starmer's defining moment. It is not sustainable to behave in this way while leading the nominally progressive party in a two party system. Starmer's unpopularity is not one of life's great mysteries. www.youtube.com/watch?v=C8_s...

Every movie now has a cute cgi blorbo that they use to deflect from criticism in the same way women that live in upstate New York will tweet like David Duke about the homeless guy they saw at the park and then retweet a bunch of photos of bunnies.
