my studio's tenancy was terminated this morning. Reason was literally it would be more profitable to kick us out and lease the whole building instead of the units therein. It's a bad day :c First my apartment now my work space, gawd.

The TOS being so strict that they control you offsite is the problem; sites like Patreon and Kofi have offsite clauses too. The social criminalization of the suggestion that somewhere you might be doing nsfw is a problem. It's branding a person as obscene and we need consumers to stand up for us

a bunch of popular ASMR artists lost their channels forever this week, after YouTube cited them for violating terms against "sexually gratifying" content: www.404media.co/youtube-asmr...

For folks asking why bother commenting because the OMB won't care: comments help build cases for the courts by explicitly laying out harms. That's why it's really important to have your comments be as specific as possible. Also, contact your senators and reps! They actually do care about this.

Monday is the deadline for public comment! The Heritage Foundation has been mobilizing its members to leave comments in favor of the rule change, so every unique comment matters (don’t use a form letter or copy/paste—similar comments are batched and treated as one).

There's an OMB rule change that would require political oversight of scientific grants, and could pull any that don't "reflect presidential priorities" Another country has tried this before! It was the USSR and it was called Lysenkoism. By @thsaey.bsky.social www.sciencenews.org/article/omb-...

is this how i finally get the big grant to do a big nature art show where the proceeds go toward conservation? It's at least how I'mma start being extra civilly disobedient.

as I crash out a little bit about the whole gutting of the esa... This is an Ashgay Paintbrush They're endemic to... just the San Bernardino Mountains. That's it. They're threatened, by habitat loss and degradation like a lot of the plants that grow in its rare habitat. #plants #shrubland

A photo of an ashgray paintbrush in a typical quartzite habitat created as the glaciers receded during the last glacial maxim.
They are found in high elevation shrubland, Juniper-Pinyon forests and conifer forests in the San Bernardino County mountains.

They're a hemiparasite, favoring sagebrush and buckwheats. And they look cool and I like them.
They endangered, and some of their biggest threats are irresponsible off-roading and habitat loss from development and the encroachment of invasive plants.
