Looking forward to enjoying some autumn sunshine and a pint. We'll be open 2-8pm both Saturday and Sunday this weekend and there's some really fresh amber ale in cask, as well as pale ale and lager on the bar.

People chatting and smiling while sitting at a table full of glasses of beer. They are wearing warm coats, hats and sunglasses. In the background is a row of railway arches with sunshine hitting the wall. A black flag with white writing is flying, it states: Clarkshaws Award Winning Beers.

Omigod, this is the most heartwarming story possible! Backpack (bear 89) is the son of the 2019 winner of Fat Bear Week, Holly (bear 435). In 2007, he injured his foot & a practice of riding on momma's Holly's back had a new meaning: he was mobility-restricted while it healed. So Holly moved him.

From DISCVR blog's Facebook page, a momma bear & a yearling cub on her back in the shallow water. I think the background has been swapped out, and I can't rule out some AI use there? God, Facebook has become the social media for AI slop : (

Meet Backpack, your 2026 Fat Bear Week champion. Backpack is 20 years old, weighs about 1,000 pounds and got his nickname because, as a cub, he loved riding on his mom's back across the Brooks River.

This weekend we'll have the first of our seasonal special green hop beers available at our taproom. We've brewed just 20 litres of Hopdodger IPA using fresh hops foraged from Kent by one of our lovely regulars who also helped out with the brew. Get yourself a pint while it lasts!

It may be a rainy start to the Bank Holiday weekend, but you can still enjoy a beer inside our taproom. Hopefully tomorrow the outdoor seats will be back in the sun. We're open our usual hours, 2-8pm Saturday & Sunday, closed Monday.

People inside a railway arch, some sitting, sone standing, all chatting and drinking.

Don't worry too much if you did badly in your A-levels, things could always be worse. For example you could have done badly in your A-levels and also have to drink beer from Jeremy Clarkson's brewery.

DID you know that for the 1999 total solar eclipse, Roger Ryman, recently appointed head brewer at St. Austell in Cornwall brewed a one-off special beer called Daylight Robbery? Anyway, it was so popular it was brewed again, and they called it Tribute. Now you do know!

It's back to business as usual at our taproom for the next couple of months, after our summer tour of local parks and fetes. We'll be open every weekend, 2-8pm Saturday and Sunday, with cold beers, wine, cider and softs, and seats in the sun or the shade.

A large group of people sat outside a railway arch, drinking and chatting.

This Saturday, 12-4, we'll be pouring our beers at the first ever Loughborough Junction Summer Fair, over the road from our brewery and taproom in LJ Works. Expect food, beer, rum, mead, games, crafts and plants from Loughborough Farm. Our taproom will be opening after the fair until 8 as usual.

Was hoping for the crossover event of the decade wherein - when football DID finally come home - it found a bunch of other sports attempting to shag Mrs. Football and so had to disguise itself as a lowly beggar to partake in (and win) an archery contest. Football then murders all the other sports

Apropos of nothing I'm starting an occasional thread on the importance of Clacton-on-Sea, Essex, to the story of human evolution. Its one of the most important Palaeolithic landscapes in Europe and we should celebrate that fact a lot more. Look out for updates #ClactonPrehistory 🏺🦣
