Two ballpoint sketches. The one in black ink is of a man making a jump-kick or something (idk the correct term in martial arts). The one in blue ink is of a man recoiling in terror/fear/pain/whathaveyou.

I just learned that you can squint to see value. I did that a lot. Really, almost the entirety of these two sketches were spent just squinted.

I’m tired of hearing talented authors being slapped down for being “voicey” while the blandest commercial prose is being elevated. I swear that “reads like chatGPT barfed it up” is a requirement for some of these gatekeepers. Write the book only you can write. Readers want that.
