It's really funny watching my GF drawin characters while I'm out here spending all my art power on bricks and shit. I have just fuckin ALWAYS loved drawing textures.

making my little art program has been really nice. every time I'm like "oh cool I can still start new projects and make high quality features with my own two hands and be excited about it"

here is a great explainer of the current godot policy around AI tools in code contributions from Remi, the project manager. the recent hyperbole is very much ill founded. if you have some concerns, please be kind, this is a tiny team of anti-AI folks trying to come up with functional FOSS rules.

I see some concerns raised about Godot's policy on contributions using AI. TL;DR: Godot isn't vibe-coded. As a whole, the Godot foundation and maintainers are fairly critical of AI usage, and don't make nor accept vibe-coded contributions. Godot doesn't include AI features nor intends to add any.

Godot's current policy on AI-assisted contributions reads like this:

"The use of AI to contribute to Godot is discouraged, and contributions made entirely by AI are prohibited.

We acknowledge that AI can be useful, but we are convinced that human effort results in better and more relevant contributions.

If you do use AI, we expect that you put in effort to proofread and improve anything it generates, and that you disclose what you used AI for. As maintainers spend significant time reviewing your code, please make sure that the code you submit is well-tested and functional. Please be respectful of their time and only submit something you have put thought and effort into."

So an "undo tree" is like this: - realize you don't like the body and legs - press undo 3 times - start drawing a different body - wait, you actually DID like the old legs.. but you already did stuff after undoing? - no worries! simply go back 2 seconds in time with the Time Machine!

brainstorming the ideal art program for my phone.. Pixel Studio is pretty good, but there's lots I'd change to support my ideal workflow. I want an infinite visual undo tree. I want to draw a sprite in the context of other sprites. I want to build a library of sprites and drag them in to make scenes

Last year, miHoYo copied my puzzle game Ouros in Zenless Zone Zero. Because they are a recognized, billion-dollar studio and my game isn't well known, some people are now assuming that their version is the original, and mine is the clone. I hope this video clears that up.

Not a lot to say lately cuz it's all either related to pretty local political/environmental issues and I don't want to reveal my location, or making my programming language which is too technical and in flux to make any posts that wouldn't be really high effort to write
