⚡ Europe’s cities need more public EV charging - but targeted planning could reduce the number of chargers they need to build by more than a quarter. Our new research compares Greater London, Madrid, Paris and Warsaw, four cities with very different networks and starting points.
New research highlights the huge health and economic value of cleaner air as a result of the UK’s planned net zero policies. In London, this could mean over 9 million working days gained and more than 44,000 avoided premature deaths. bit.ly/4gRIQ5A @cleanairfund.bsky.social
Net zero measures will deliver cleaner air that could provide £7.7 billion boost to UK economy by 2050 - Clean Air Fund
Decarbonisation across transport, buildings, industry and power generation will bring air quality gains and an economic boost to the UK.

Really enjoying Day 2 of the @cleancitiescampaign.org Curious Cities Assembly. Earlier we heard from @aliceferguson.bsky.social, @ianwalker.bsky.social and Tim Gill about how children are the most impacted but the least considered when it comes to our streets and public realm.
Watching the excellent @cleancitiescampaign.org session this morning talking about 'the child lens'. @londoncycling.bsky.social Women's Network, talks about 'the female lens'. Other lenses are available but stuck in a drawer. This is urgent ! @ianwalker.bsky.social

European cities are set to lose up to 14% of their on-street parking by 2040 due to growing car size. Our new report with @transportenvironment.org shows how ‘right-sizing’ policies to get new cars back to 2015 levels could reverse this trend. Check it out 👇 bit.ly/3SRno6P #carspreading

📈 Diesel vans registered by businesses in London have hit an all-time high At the end of 2025, there were more than 100,000 diesel vans registered by companies in London - that’s 18 diesel vans for every 1 company-registered electric van.
Nearly 20,000 people are killed on roads in the EU every year, and most of them aren't in cars. The change we want to see starts with lower default speed limits, school streets to protect children, and measures to tackle carspreading so that our cities are built for people, not cars.

🚲 @etsc.eu has highlighted a growing gap ➡️ while more people are choosing to cycle, progress in reducing cyclist deaths is stalling. If we want more people to cycle, we also need to make it safe - including 30km/h speed limits & protected, high-quality cycling infrastructure. www.etsc.eu/pinflash50

London has committed to eliminating all road deaths and serious injuries by 2041 - but #carspreading is putting that at risk 🚗 ⬆️ Around a third of cars on London’s roads are now larger SUVs, making streets more dangerous, especially for children.
😲 🚲 Families could save thousands of pounds a year by switching from a second-hand car to an electric cargo bike & public transport. Take a look at our new research with @solveschoolrun.bsky.social ⬇️ cleancitiescampaign.org/want-to-save...

The #schoolstreets we want are spaces that people can enjoy every day, at any hour, right outside our schools. But there are also more gradual options that make streets safer and more welcoming for children on their journeys to and from school ⬇️ #StreetsForKids
🚗 Car clubs are a key part of London’s decarbonised transport future - but are boroughs doing enough to support them? Our campaigner @zakbond.bsky.social sat down with the CEO of CoMoUK to talk about why incoming councillors should prioritise car clubs, and how they can help them thrive.
Road traffic causes 20% of PM2.5 + 30% of NO2 bit.ly/4sYcSYi On 7 May, London boroughs take charge of almost all roads & kerbsides. They have the power to electrify London - but only if we push them⚡ Join colleagues @cleancitiescampaign.org to demand bold action now ➡️ bit.ly/4sC332G #pollution
⚡ It’s time to Electrify London ⚡ Road transport causes 28% of the city's CO₂ emissions and 42% of NOx. This is a major health and climate issue. EVs aren't the whole answer - but we do need local parties to make switching to them easier. Take action via @cleancitiescampaign.org 👇 .
