I can’t believe we’re still having a debate about whether there’s a trade off between job creation and measures to green the economy. There isn’t. The evidence was clear years ago - a green economy creates far more jobs than the fossil fuel economy it replaces. Come on Labour, catch up …

I should probably do a Democracy 4 mod, which includes all of count binface's policies... but its tricky. Like...how much would Nationalizing Adele actually cost? and how long would it take to implement a policy like bringing back ceefax? The research would be problematic...

I'm not sure folks have realized just how crazy the second half of 2026 and 2027 will be for global temperatures – on the back of a record-smashing El Niño event. Here is my latest estimate of where both years will end up compared to global temperatures since 1850.

A 3 bedroom detached very-old house with no cavity wall insulation, running electric induction hobs, a heat pump, powering TWO electric cars, in SW UK, with 10 3 year-old solar panels on a ground mount with partial shading. Solar power is the most obvious home upgrade imaginable, even in the UK.

We need more progressive corporate taxes. We have this crazy cliff-edge VAT registration threshold, and just 2 bands: 19% up to £50k profit, then 25% at £250k, tapering at a marginal rate of 26.5% (oh the stupidity). But what we need is a rate for over £10m and £100m. I pay the same rate as Google.

I'm not in the list of people calling for it, but I think a 1% wealth tax on assets over £1m would be no bad thing. Sure, people would find ways to evade it, but if your combined bank balances and stock portfolio and property portfolio was over £1m, it would be hard to deny. That would be £10k/year.

Some 'youtubers' or other 'influencers' have voices that make them unbearable to me. I have to actually leave the room. I think part of it is this 'never pausing, even for a second' thing that they do. I do *not* have ADHD, fortunately. I can cope if someone pauses slightly. Like between sentences.

A bit depressed about the state of gaming and AI. I am making a solo-dev retirement game. I do not want to hire an artist, or anybody. I like to work alone. Yet apparently I will get nothing but abuse if I use AI art. (AI code is fine, for no reason that makes sense). Considering not releasing it.
