Today is "Soft Rains Day" for those who remember this haunting 1950 Ray Bradbury piece. It's classic Bradbury, eerily accurate w/ its predictions in some respects (looking at you, Alexa), and well worth a few moments of your day to read if you're so inclined.

The diarrhea lettuce company, Taylor Farms, uses slave labor contracted from the Arizona Dept. of Corrections. The backbreaking labor is often performed by imprisoned Mexican nationals who would be otherwise ineligble to work in the US. They are paid $1.50 an hour.

Always and forever, fuck Chuck Schumer. I can't say whether or not he should be a US Senator - that's up to the people of New York. I can say that he is so blatantly incapable of his leadership job that he needs to be replaced in the next Congress, regardless of which party controls the Senate.

Found an image of J.H. Collins, an early Chicago lawyer who claimed that if you saw a cop arresting a “fugitive slave,” you could legally shoot that cop as a kidnapper, as they had no authority to make those arrests here. Lived at present day Wacker and Michigan; cows stole his vegetables.

The Tylenol murders in 1982 caused the entire OTC drug industry to change its practices and that only killed 7 people (officially). 30 people have been murdered by ICE just in 2026 alone. ICE can't be redeemed anymore than open Tylenol bottles could be considered "safe." Abolish the entire agency.

My only hot take about the NY primaries last night is that most media sources are completely unaware that anything outside of the tri-state area exists, so assume that because something happened in New York it must mean the entire world has changed.

This is the correct vision for the future, btw - one that permanently erases Trump from all celebrations of the American presidency. Let the three other living presidents be seen (even if Bush was a colossal fuckup) and recognized; no need to include a man whose only goal was himself.
