Damn, I love games. All kinds of em. I love making games, I love playing games, I love losing at games and winning games, I love playing on the table at home, at my local board game meetup, on the internet with my friends. What a life.

Some goofy BTS from my short film 'Eventually' that I shot with my younger brother, on our farm :) At the time of shooting, my only camera was a 12 year old Nikon D3300, and that's what I used. Scrappy and laid-back shoot, but loads of fun. #shortfilm #filmmaking
Eventually was selected for its first screening! 🍿 It’s a huge honour to have one of my films play at a local film festival (one I submitted to the day before the deadline!)
My first short film is COMPLETE! A three minute film shot on a 12 year old DSLR, ‘Eventually’ follows a struggling but capable teenager through his increasingly odd responsibilities on a family farm. 🧵1/6

Just wrapped my first real #shortfilm! So excited to share 'Eventually' with everyone here. It's been quite the process: my Nikon D3300 the only camera, and my brother the only actor. It'll be on my YouTube channel once it's out: youtube.com/@velichor #wrapped #filmsky #filmmaking
Just spent 5 days at #NDP events, and 2 days writing/researching. The story of Avi Lewis's leadership election win is an interesting one, and it's all broken down in this article I wrote:

Why we aren’t getting there… on buses, bikes, or sidewalks
Per capita car travel plateaued in the early 2000s. Is it time to switch gears?

Canada has ties to ICE. Please take 20 seconds to sign this petition to parliament, telling them to cut those ties: www.ourcommons.ca/petitions/en...
A reminder: this is an Irishman with valid papers speaking about how he's being held in US concentration camps. If you don't have to go to the US, do not go to the US. "GDC" is not "have to go". One denial at the border is going to mark you for life, and that's the best of the bad outcomes.
"A modern-day concentration camp ... People have been killed by the staff here." Irish citizen Seamus Culleton has been in ICE detention since September, despite having a valid work permit and his own business in the US.

US Senate: Defund ICE now!
ICE just detained a five-year-old child. And only a few weeks after agents killed Renée Good, they shot and killed another peaceful protester, Alex Pretti. Despite this brutality, the House voted to

Anyone know if this stat has a secondary source? I've been doing some digging for a video about Bluesky, and couldn't find this ~30% replicated anywhere. @jay.bsky.team, if you see this, I'd love to do an interview!
Yep. We also have a higher percentage of posters than most social sites, which follow a 90-9-1 pattern of lurkers-commenters-posters. We haven’t dipped below ~30% posters.
This case is an important one to watch if you care about your own right to know. If the police are free to arrest, detain and block journalists while acting on industry's behalf, our whole information ecosystem gets eroded.
We're suing the RCMP and it's finally going to trial this month. Here's a great video explaining why we're doing it. #cdnpoli www.youtube.com/watch?v=stDm...

Is there a good reason for me to care so much more about Canadian lives than Swiss ones? Lately it's been bothering me how often news stories talk of the few, singular, or even *potential* North Americans hurt abroad - instead of acknowledging the equal horror of any life being lost in a tragedy.
Watching Trump speak and justify why the US is entitled to invade another country and kidnap the president makes me think that when we started talking about the “post-truth” era, we had no idea of how deeply post-truth it’d become. Perception of reality is now random and optional.
People are going to try and lure you into debates about whether Maduro was a good guy or not and the thing is, it doesn’t matter for the purposes of discussing whether violent kidnappings and extrajudicial murders by the US government are ok. No, they aren’t! End of convo.
Marco Rubio is reportedly saying Maduro will stand trial in US courts. Which means it’s now the US administration’s position that US courts can hold foreign presidents, but not the US president, accountable for crimes.
I also felt like I wrote a lot today, but I think most of it was in a search engine. I’m too curious for such a confusing world with near-infinite instantly available information.
I wrote 5400 words today and fuck, that's a lot.

1/2 For the avoidance of doubt, my own take on the Avatar movies is: Visual treats with mostly simplistic stories, by design because Cameron hedges his deep tech engagement with familiar, tropey scripts that sell well globally. This has been his mode since T2 at least and he executes well on it.
