Group photo taken during last week's #TETTRIs project Final Event at theRoyal Belgian Institute of Natural Sciences in Brussels. Exciting to hear about, see, present & demonstrate results of the project and to meet colleagues from across our continent in person! #tettris.eu #naturalsciencesbelgium
Get ready for #Taxonomy Recognition Day on the 23rd May! Join the #NameItToSaveIt movement. Take a photo of a favourite species, with its scientific name, and share it! Naming a species is the first step toward protecting it. Taxonomy plays a crucial role! tettris.eu/trd/

This is a fun way to find out about species that I have not seen before! Case in point - this beautiful moth
Today is Taxonomy Recognition Day! This small, elegant moth is Tinagma perdicella Zeller, 1839, a species listed as Near Threatened in Finland. Suitable habitats are diminishing due to the overgrowth of meadows and other open areas, as well as a reduction in burnt forest habitats. #NameItToSaveIt
Pelidnota cyanitarsis (Gory, 1833) - a splendid metallic scarab beetle from northeastern Brazil's unique arid, little-known and now threatened caatinga biome. #NameItToSaveIt
#Reference #collections are crucial for protecting #biodiversity: Hanna Laakkonen (@nathist.bsky.social) explains why we still have a long way to go to know and understand the World's richness. #TETTRIsEU #NameItToSaveIt youtu.be/9w0oQ_phS3c?...

My 1st post here - aptly following my 1st CETAF General Assembly meeting #cetaf57, warmly hosted by the Musée national d'histoire naturelle in beautiful Luxembourg🇱🇺. Wonderful meeting colleagues from across the breadth of our continent to work together in promoting & developing taxonomy!
