I just collect old stuff. It's not hoarding if it's functional, right? (previously @compgeke on birdapp)
New blog post! In Part Two of the BBC Bridge Companion adventure, I get some real hardware to take apart. It's... very nice! Too bad the cartridge slot is mangled. #retrogaming #retrocomputing #bbcbc www.leadedsolder.com/2026/08/04/b...

come on down to the Vintage Computer Festival West, here in Silicon Valley at the Computer History Museum. Saturday and Sunday, August 1-2! this is the ultra rare 3270 PC (left) and the XT/370 (right).
What can you do at VCF West? Why stream music over dialup of course.
Hey OLD PEOPLE who used IRC: there was some Windows Program I had back in the day that let you draw basically pixel art and you could save it or copy it as text with the mIRC color codes. Anyone know what this was?
VCF West and VCF Southeast are going to have cross-show IRC! More details to come later :)
I'll have mine too! Well, two of them now that I have a 2DS XL in my fleet! I should like, catch a bunch of Shellos and name them all Rootie and trade them with people, hah. #VCFWest #Nintendo #3DS
If you're coming to VCF West make sure to bring your DS for street pass :)

That could explain some of the weird issues I've been having with the Insight
Made like a dark, fucked up version of the realplayer logo haha. Just a glimpse into my dark reality. A full stare into my twisted perspective would make most simply go insane lmao
no picture because it was so sudden and spontaneous, but I just saw Sylvie do exactly this
Fun pickup tonight: Code-A-Phone 700 with a Western Electric 4A speakerphone! :) This is the very very first answering machine Western Electric sold!
One of my favorite objects I own is this painted Sun ECL Monitor. It's beautiful.
I also wonder on the financial ramifications of this. Going to have to go change every non-internet connected device's DST settings by hand. Security panels, access control, fire alarm, legacy master clock all fall under my job scope. I guess good for service calls?
I have to add into DST discourse and I look forward to 8:30 AM sunrise in the winter just to appease people who make a new years resolution of getting outside more (but we know won't). This gets worse as you move north. Seattle won't see sunlight until 9 AM in December/January.

I feel like I need a vehicle with a side horn to honk at smooth brains beside you who don’t understand how merging works
oops, i cloned another sound card! this is the Beavis Ultrasound, an open source clone of the Gravis Ultrasound PnP. yes, i know there are already clones of this card, but mine provides the full schematic and matches the original board layout. github.com/schlae/Beavi...
Ironic that the party of "Biden is too old" has now had one and a half people die just before an election.
Saturn NetLink modem works! Upgrading over the Japanese modem :) . The Japanese Modem only runs at 14.4, while the black Netlink one is 28.8.
