This is how my last week on prednisone felt. It’s over now. *sigh*

"Billions in taxpayers’ dollars are available to backstop a new bitumen pipeline to the west coast or dubious carbon capture technologies The Public Service Alliance of Canada (PSAC) reported that about half of their members working at a national centre for disaster response were fired in January."
My doctor has me on a short trail of prednisone and I gotta it’s so wild that I can just wake up, have a day, and not be in constant pain. It’s even wilder that it took 13 years of living with daily, *severe*, often debilitating pain to get to get here. #NEISVoid
imagine if the bennet sisters had experienced garlic bread
I did not anticipate how hard it would be to find collaborators in Edmonton. Throwing a bottle out to sea looking for an opera singer versed in extended technique and comfortable with physical performance for a short performance (12 min) in September at U of A. Paid gig, weird art. Reach out.
This is a a great thread though I wish I coukd see what is being responded toofor further context.
This. If you need AI to ‘research’; how on earth are you knowledgeable enough on the subject to catch the errors? It’s pure Dunning-Kruger.
So, ok, a thing about telling yr audience "i use AI for my info gathering/research but then I look over it and fix any errors" is that you unfortunately told me youve outsourced your knowledge base on this subject to the machine, and therefore I have no reason to believe you CAN catch those errors
Most of the people I know who are into AI appear to be addicted or subservient to it so this tracks.

Another massive storm in Edmonton, feels cozy and fresh *but* as a covid cautious person with pretty shit health, its kind of devastating to see the oportunities to socialize and eat outdoors disapearing with the constant rain.
“…with traffic deaths climbing …the province didn’t build a portal for people to report dangerous intersections or reckless driving. It built one for bike lanes.” 🤨 #yycbike #yegbike
Opinion: Alberta’s bike lanes aren’t a problem to be solved – they’re how people get around

Social shaming does work. Let’s continue to make AI bros feel like the world’s biggest trashcans at every opportunity 🫶🏻✨
"A.i." is a tool pushed by racist, fascist billionaires for racist, fascist purposes.
Ontario jails are using an AI tool that claims to predict prisoners’ behaviour. And it’s disproportionately placing Black prisoners in maximum security. An investigation by @desmondcole.bsky.social reveals the province knew the tool would discriminate against Black people—and used it anyway.
Canadians and Northern USers, you would be shocked how well these work! Please, please, if you have the time and the money, make one.
Here’s instructions on building your own Corsi-Rosenthal box.

More of our precious summer days stolen from us while PM Carney doubles down on a dying industry for a last gasp cash grab. Unhealthy air quality, Toronto & Southern Ontario. 183 AQI right now, higher this afternoon. Check your city at: www.iqair.com Fire smoke map: firesmoke.ca/forecasts/cu...
Well, looks like a message was received, and the 'survey' has been changed to allow you to choose "None" as an option. #yycbike #yegbike
Barbaric Urban Bike Lane Snitch Line, for sure. In all seriousness, everyone in #yycbike and #yegbike should be filling this out on as many different devices as possible. My advice is to use data driven arguments in the comment box even though I doubt they will care.
This is more helpful information than any Canadian politician is putting out. Mark Carney is posting videos about how important pipelines and partnerships with energy companies are while over 800 fires are burning across the country
Air quality has reached unhealthy levels in parts of NYC due to smoke from Canadian wildfires. Poor air quality affects everyone, but some people are more sensitive to it than others, including people with heart or lung conditions, older adults, pregnant New Yorkers, and infants and children.

As tax payers, we pay for police to terrorise us and our neighbors. Then we pay some more for the lawsuits they rack up from terrorizing us.
most murders are committed by someone the victim knows - a partner, neighbor etc. but in cases where there is no relationship between murderer & victim? the killer is a cop about a third of the time. if you are killed by a stranger, there is a 1 in 3 chance that stranger is a cop.
