We live in Suffolk and East Anglia is well worth a visit for anyone interested in archaeology. The internationally famous site of Sutton Hoo is just across the River Deben from Woodbridge. Made even more famous by the 2021 film starring Carey Mulligan and Ralph Fiennes.

The Bredfield Brooch - An Anglo-Scandinavian disc brooch which was discovered near Woodbridge in Suffolk during 2009. The brooch possibly dates to the 11th century, and is part of the collections at Norwich Castle. 📸 My own. #FindsFriday #BredfieldBrooch #NorwichCastle

My favourite Sam Neil story. In Event Horizon he requested that the Aboriginal flag replace the Union Jack on his uniform’s Australia flag of the future. One of the good guys. Sad news to start the day. May he rest in peace.

Count Binface wants water bosses to swim in rivers to prove they’re clean. He could win a by-election on that policy alone.

My mum worked as a nurse in Ireland and later the UK NHS. The NHS has supported my family through illness, accidents, pregnancies and childbirth. It is our most precious asset; in the UK we are generally not bankrupted by illness to support 'big pharma' and health companies/shareholders. #NHS

Health minister Aneurin Bevan marked the creation of the National Health Service on this day 1948 by attending a ceremony at Park Hospital, Davyhulme (later renamed Trafford General), where he symbolically received the keys. I had my tonsils out there in 1960.
