Ignore the headlines. Those kids who are said to be brain-dead, tik-tok-ed out of consciousness, apathetic, etc etc, are the exact opposite. They're smart, imaginative, they're asking the questions their elders do everything to avoid, with the right words, without fear. They are the voice of hope.

The right-wing idea is that somehow people cannot thrive amidst difference/diversity and cities demonstrate that they do and that lots of us find it enriching and rewarding to live among people who are not clones marching in lockstep. They treat diversity as a threat....

I mean he has downplayed the seriousness. The process that considers the findings has considered them and has been entirely independent. They are guilty of what the Premier League asserted they were guilty of. The football investment process has been linked by politicians such as Andy Burnham.

🗣️ "I haven't downplayed the seriousness of the findings." Andy Burnham has addressed concerns that he devalued the verdict against Man City after the club were found guilty of Premier League financial rule breaches.

For 14yrs, the Tories cratered our economy, added thousands to our cost of living, melted down public services and brexited us into decades of eye-watering expense and lost opportunity. That’s still their plan. With tax breaks for the super rich paid for by welfare cuts. So what TF is this headline?

Tories will make you better off
Badenoch vows to scrap inheritance tax on family homes and abolish Labour's levy on properties worth more than £2m

They're polling eight points lower than their general election result, which was itself the worst in their entire history, their leader couldn't explain the big defense policy they opened conference with, none of their big new tax cuts are funded, and yet it's still covered as a triumph

Since it began lobbying for the UAE, FGS has entertained Rachel Reeves, then chancellor, the PM's chief business adviser and Antonia Romeo, now the UK's top civil servant. All logged as hospitality - no minutes and no record of what was discussed.

If you understand that “Fuck you, shut up, shut your dirty hippy mouth you piece of shit” is the actual primary motivation, and that secondary things like “Britain does what America tells us to, no questions asked” are simply not up for debate at all, ever, then that explains it succinctly.

I get responses with weird theories for why this happens but, for real: relentless massacre and destruction is not a factor because it is only incidental to the core point Rafa and others have always been making, and that key, non-negotiable point is: Fuck you, we are in charge, shut up, fuck off.

I note that all of this analysis has been *completely unaffected and unchanged* by Israel embarking on a programme of genocide and ethnic cleansing in the Gaza Strip, West Bank and Lebanon that the white people world has non-negotiably supported. That simply is not a factor, at all.

Perhaps the British political commentariat are simply so incredibly correct, that they do not need to update their views in light of the most horrific events? Anything is possible! But it seems doubtful, given their comically awful track record.

When will the bad takes from people who intermittently discover NI's governance arrangements stop?? The Public Processions Act was enacted months before the GFA, to address this issue as a preliminary. The GFA wasn't meant to tackle this. Also NI Bill of Rights was never enacted as the GFA intended:

There’s no adaptation for a world in which Israel is now committing World War II-level crimes against humanity. It’s just the exact same shit but louder, even angrier and more insistent. Because it simply doesn’t matter what is happening in reality, it is irrelevant to the broader point: Fuck you.

I note that all of this analysis has been *completely unaffected and unchanged* by Israel embarking on a programme of genocide and ethnic cleansing in the Gaza Strip, West Bank and Lebanon that the white people world has non-negotiably supported. That simply is not a factor, at all.

Zack Polanski had the chance to show real leadership. He blew it | Rafael Behr

A toxic debate over anti-Zionism leaves the Green leader looking like a passenger in the movement that carried him to the top, says Guardian columnist Rafael Behr

And when it comes to Northern Ireland anyone interested in the UK Union in its current form might want to consider what happens if cuts by London and Belfast to NI's cultural and academic life leads to a lasting reorientation of its intellectual and artistic elites towards Dublin.

I am not very worried about about the Tory Tapestry’s misuse of “doth”. What worries me much more is this sequence of panels which seems to show a small boat full of brown-skinned people followed by a plague of rats running riot and then a lot of dead white people labelled tax payers.

Detail from Conservative Party mock Bayeux Tapestry showing 1. A boat full of brown skinned people. 2. Enormous rats chasing cats. 3. White-skinned “tax payers” dead in the streets.

It seems unlikely that a BBC editor who e.g. made a film that “accidentally” accused Tory staff of screaming “Hitler was right” at colleagues and later quietly clarified this wasn’t correct, in an election year, would ever work in current affairs again.
