Semana Internacional thoughts: -Perverse thrill to see a NJ Strong tag title defense, not to mention HoT w/out Togo, but it's still Yujiro out there. -Soberano needs no plants to get besos. -Titan remains hugely underrated outside lucha circles. Always works hard & makes young guys look great.

People talk a lot about the causes of declining birth rates, but it's really simple. People used to need enough kids to put on a touring Shakespeare production - maybe six, even eight. But with the rising popularity of Samuel Beckett? Two is sufficient.

Random G1 thoughts: -Moloney's match with Wolf was better than Uemura's match with Wolf. -Tsuji/Oiwa is my MOTT thus far, just edging out Take/Oleg. -By and large I liked Tsuji/Ice but have about a dozen matches ranked higher. -Moloney/Uemura's my pick for most underrated match, at least per CM.

Watching El Phantasmo wrestle in Van for the gazillionth time and I can't decide whether to boo him cuz of the Jake Lee match or cheer him cuz of the Fletcher one.

Okay, back to the tournament that's not a total work. G1 Nights 2 & 3 ratings: Kidd/Drilla: 3.25 SANADA/GOK: 1.25 Lee/Take: 2.25 Oleg/Yuto: 3.5 Shingo/Oiwa: 3.75 Tsuji/Goto: 4 --- Drilla/Henare: 3.25 Kidd/Oskar: 3.5 Narita/Newman: 1.75 Uemura/ZSJ: 3.75

G1 season is here! @karensensei.bsky.social and I kick off @postwrestling.com's coverage with a review of last night's show in Chicago. We talk Wrestle Kingdom rematches, the spread of young(ish) talent across both blocks, and which G1 competitor would be well served by a jaunt over to JCW.

In terms of cross-promotional intrigue and engagement, the Thekla/SLK program is by far the best built program in Forbidden Door's history. Danielson/Okada, Mox/Naito, and maybe Mone/Vaquer would be distant runners up. Says a lot about its failure to capitalize on its concept over five years.
