August Character Workshop Day 2. #AugCharWork Archetypes I would suggest to you that a good character needs to align, at least somewhat to an archetype. Archetypes tell readers how to relate to the character.

She probably needs to take a long nap But in the story, she has to do her part to maintain order and keep Blackridge from destroying the Valley in the name of union busting.

I actually think the most interesting and important thing about Enya is the way I handle her motherhood. It's important to her character, not just something that sets off the plot. It works as a restriction without taking away her autonomy.

Orcs. They mostly live far in the north, where food is scarce and agriculture is impossible. They live entirely on large game, which just doesn't support large populations.

That would probably be humans. The humans and the Chunes actually have a similar population on Ciolon, but the chunes are very concentrated in the Chunish Isles where they live in extremely high population density. Humans are found almost anywhere.

I remember a while back someone said that they think Enya has very tall energy, like 6'. She is actually 5', but that is very tall for a chune.

That depends a lot on which type of leader, and the priorities of their time. Just a few examples: OMeko Waffles Tackett of the Chussen K'IverChekt got to her position through ruthless realpolitik, she's very good at making deals and crushing enemies.
