First, you tell me to get a hobby; now it's an “appropriate hobby”.

I keep seeing this term "Michigander", and I am officially giving the spurious "d" the side-eye. Besides, Peninsulite is easier to say.

Everywhere should be a hostile place for Republicans. They should not be able to find a friend anywhere. They should lose all their professional and familial relationships. They should be blocked from signing up to social media platforms, clubs, and yard sales. They should be ejected from fairs.

Am I supposed to view this as a reward or a threat? I lean towards the former.
"I am not going to be in the same party with Hasan Piker ... if he becomes a force in the Democratic Party, I am out of here," James Carville says on Fox this morning. Reminder: The Left Insurgency airs tonight on CNN at 8p ET.
A prime example of what artists try to teach writers not to do. Imagine this cover again, except the only words are the title block and a caption block (where it currently says "TRUE AMAZING ACCOUNTS ... ") that reads simply "Take a ride to the thirteenth floor". Isn't it better?

I've been browsing the world's selections of Trilby hats ... and find myself astounded by some of the pricing. What on earth would make a hat worth $595.00?

Unless and until Scouting America permits atheists to be members, no one should have anything to do with them anyway. This is just one more reason to shut this organisation down completely.

On a related note ... I was a paperboy for the Omaha World Herald when I was young. On of my customers, Ed Guinan, had been a newsboy for the Omaha Bee. He took me aside one day to tell me the story of the night he spent in an alley hiding from a lunch mob that hung the mayor.
Having to look up pictures of actual lynching picnics for what is admittedly a very dark project and… Jesus… if ever you wanted the quickest, easiest way to despise White American “humanity” this may actually be it

The claim that Christians automatically possess superior moral standards is contradicted by history and everyday reality. Atheists don't need a deity to recognize that human beings have intrinsic worth, can suffer, and deserve equal rights.
Why do we keep naming bases after Southern traitors?
The Air Force will rename Joint Base Charleston, its massive South Carolina base that’s home to much of the military’s C-17 cargo aircraft fleet, after the late Sen. Lindsey Graham, according to a memo obtained by The Post.
In this vein, if Sam Raimi made an adaptation of my book that missed the point of the story, I'd speak up about it ... but I'd be grateful to have something like that to complain about.

This meme is beginning to bug me ... isn't this a picture of Odysseus suffering from an overwhelming desire? Shouldn't it be posted next to things the poster finds intensely desirable? #TheOdyssey
For those that are interested in a self-published experience -- I'm relatively successful for self-published horror. IngramSpark maintains complete sales records, and here they are. Amazon runs about ten times this for digital sales, and twice this for physical, but no 12-year chart from them.
For the record, the first printing of my first novel, Old Man's War, was 3,700 copies, in line with the advance I got for it, which was $6,500. It went back for several printings but regardless only 7,700 of the Tor edition of the hardcover were printed. It didn't really take off until paperback.
Wile E. Coyote, despaired, takes a bucket of paint and a brush and paints a beautiful two-bedroom house on a mountainside. He paints a beautiful coyote wife in the window, and two adorable coyote kids running around in the yard. He tries to enter this new coyote life, but it is inaccessible to him
Incidentally, for all those people that think I'm too stupid to use Celsius when I tell you that it hits 50 degrees in the summer here, I offer this dashboard picture as evidence.

There's been a recent trend of novels that are feminist retellings of Greek myths. I've found them quite enjoyable.
If ancient myth ain't open to reinterpretation and reinvention I don't know what is
