The latter is at least fixable, but there is some very real work he needs to put in.

Squarely within their wheelhouse and avoids the type of Cash hagiography it could've been in lesser hands.

A bit overlong-- the Dire Straits cover ends the album on the wrong note-- but there's never any faulting his writing.

Meola, Lucky to Be (****): An assured, cohesive debut album following a few years' worth of singles and EPs, this announces Meola as one of most gifted of the many, many talented Gen-Z women who ought to be wrestling control of the country mainstream from the Wallen acolytes and Pledge Week bros.
I am on record that LeAnn Rimes spent her early career "caterwauling like a strangled Muppet," but I'd probably take a bullet for her now as an all-time great.

Review forthcoming, but the new Shaboozey album's out today, which I'm betting you didn't know because the promo for it has been as disastrous (... suspiciously so...) as I can recall for an artist of his status in ages, and both he and the album deserved better.

I don't love every choice she makes with her vocal tones on this, but the level of sophistication and intricacy in these vocal harmonies-- which she composed, arranged, *and* performed herself-- is indicative of why she deserves that RRHoF induction many times over. Just an astonishing talent.
