The country was shut down for nearly a year, tons of death and suffering, the global economy in tatters and oh yeah the outgoing president tried to stage a violent coup at the end. THAT is handing off a disaster.
This isn’t remotely true — again, reference the Economist cover in October 2024 calling the US economy “the envy of the world” — and if anything it’s true if the world Trump handed Biden in Jan 2021.
