Listening to this press conference from Spokane, it doesn’t sound like they are going to lift the evacuation zones any time soon. Unfavorable weather coming this weekend. But so far we still have a house. They tried to walk in this morning but were not allowed in #spokanefire

BREAKING: Some evacuation orders south of Country Homes Boulevard have been reduced, which will allow people in the least-affected neighborhoods in northwest Spokane (including the Franklin Park area) to return home. Many areas remain under Level 3 (GO NOW!) evacuation orders.

Aerial footage reveals the devastation after massive fire in Spokane, Washington State.

Important flag: If you know someone in northwest Spokane who you haven’t heard from, you can open a missing persons report by calling Crime Check at (509) 456-2233. Crews will attempt to locate. Evacuations went well, but the fire moved so fast that it’s too early to say there was no loss of life.

Dear people with drones near Spokane: WTF are you doing? You're blocking air support to get the fire under control. More than 700 homes have already burned. What the hell is wrong with you. Same to anyone driving vehicles into blocked zones. Nobody should have to tell you this.

Friday my kid got the fire danger warning for Saturday and she prepared to leave just in case. She booked a hotel & left as soon as smoke was visible. The level 3 evacuation order came through as she was already driving down the hill. Thank you to everyone who was on top of this from the get go.

This is exactly right. This was a model response. Fire crews preemptively staffed up. Officials were in town. Electeds quickly declared a state of emergency. Evacuation notices were made quickly. It could have been so much worse, if not for all of this hard work and effort.
