Update on the storm from Friday. It was definitely caught early and a storm warning WAS issued with calls for 50ish mph winds and hail but it evolved much quicker than anticipated. Just to put it in perspective: at 8:30pm local time, there were no measurements of radar gates exceeding 70 mph. 🧡

Not even a weekend w/o power will prevent Monday speed workout day! We were SUPPOSED to do five 1-mi repeats at race pace. We did them about 20-sec faster than pace. Also lol don’t look at my injinji toes in my slides. I was having an autistic panic post-run & had to take off my Adizeros LOL πŸƒπŸ»β€β™€οΈβœ¨

Selfie with run club friend in the parking lot after our repeats run. I have my injinji toes out with my slides on LOLOur mile splits!

Mi-1 was warmup at 9:35 min/mi
2: 7:16
3: 7:15
4: 7:10
5: 7:15
6:7:08
7: cooldown at 9:07

Other than being eepy, we slept 7 hours after being able to get back to bed (we were camping out on the couch in the living room with the floor fans lol) and the A/C and electricity are holding up good. Bruh what a weekend lol Glad to have made it through. Seems like most SATX’s power is back now.

Our neighborhood’s power was finally restored at around 4:30am 😭πŸ₯² Thank goodness. I am utterly exhausted from being in semi-crisis mode for about 31 hours straight lol We have to knock the temperature in the house down gradually. It got up to 84 degrees F inside by the time we got back power lol

We have a generator running & we’re just cycling through what to have on. Right now we have the fridge, floor fans, wifi & a power strip. We just got finished checking on our neighbors. We’re all kinda going through it but we’re ultimately okay. Please send all of us in San Antonio good vibes πŸ«©πŸ‘πŸ»

San Antonio got hit with another catastrophic storm that took out power for thousands of people (including my house!) and caused the San Antonio River to overfill & spill over, heavily impacting the downtown + Missions areas. Climate change isn’t real though. 🀧 Anyways. We still don’t have power.

Fitz (tuxedo longhair cat) chilling on his side on the wooden living room table with a battery operated lantern. We don’t have power!

Can I be grumpy about something niche for a sec? It’s diabolical work to be an official hotel partner for the Chev Houston Marathon & not offer runners who book through the registration page late checkout on marathon day πŸ˜“ It’s an extra $75 charge if you elect for late checkout ON MARATHON DAY πŸƒπŸ»β€β™€οΈ
