AoE2 was my first video game obsession and I spent years playing essentially just this. Haven't played it for almost 25 years. Installed DE and man, am I having a blast. Weirdly, my brain keeps telling me to click on certain icons without remembering what they'd do. Like, oh, flaming arrows, right!

Tech ran out of ideas, let deep learning loose on noise patterns and sold the result as AI. People caught on that it's just autocomplete applied to nothing and now their final death rattle is blackmail. Media loves both tech fantasies and the apocalypse, and this is the convergence point of the two.

Curiously, hate against a minority that is significantly underrepresented in the states in which the AfD thrives most, but that would benefit most from left-wing policies because they're the poorest states in the country.

It’s just that they haven’t offered *hate*. The AfD have offered hate, that is their most passionate offering, that is primarily why they are thriving.

Whoever came up with promoting Hades as a "roguelike for people that hate roguelikes" has never met a person that actually hates them. I can see the ingenuity, the passion, the craftsmanship that went into it, but it's still a roguelike. And giving me pity points for dying does not sweeten the deal.
